Best Skyscraper in the Middle East in 2016

As part of our search for the world’s most popular skyscraper of 2016, this time we take a close look at what was completed in the Middle East in 2016. Usually Dubai has a number of irons in the fire but past year the number of completed skyscrapers was surprisingly low in the otherwise sky-ambitious emirate: The 118 Tower (212 meter), The Distinction (195 meter) and Park Lane Tower (150 meter) are the three tallest and frankly none of them are striking enough the make the cut.

Luckily that still leaves plenty of buildings in other countries in the Gulf region to chose from, which we have lined up in the following bracket. Voting results can be found here.

United Tower • Manama • 200 meter
Qatar Petroleum District • Doha • 223 meter
Amot Atrium Tower • Ramat Gan • 158 meter
Sama Beirut • Beirut • 194 meter
Hamad Tower • Riyadh • 163 meter
Central Bank of Kuwait • Kuwait City • 240 meter
Al Jazeera Tower • Abu Dhabi • 36 floors
Four Seasons • Abu Dhabi • 144 meter
