A few days ago Turkish developer Garanti Koza announced plans for a skyscraper complex close to city center of Sofia, Bulgaria. It’s a big one all right. The 535,000m2 development features three residential towers with about 725 apartments each, office space, a 300-room hotel and serviced apartments as well as an entertainment center. The towers will have 55 floors and will be situated around a bio-lagoon which includes a two-story retail podium. The scheme was designed by the international design firm Benoy
The project site can be found at the intersection of Tzar Boris III Blvd and Geshov Blvd, which is relatively close to Sofia’s city center (here on the map or image below). It’s not the first development proposal for this area. Since the area was privatized in 2006 the city has seen several schemes by different developers, which didn’t materialize due to the financial crisis. Koza Square is the second skyscraper project of Garanti Koza in Sofia.
