Measuring 139 meters tall, a rollercoaster with the foreboding name Kingda Ka at Six Flags, New Jersey is recognized as the tallest in the world. Even with it’s record breaking height, the structure looks more like a roller coaster than anything else.
Enter the Polercoaster. Coined around the word pole, according to Wikipedia, this is a term for “an installation that consists of a large tower structure which features glass elevators to an observation deck, as well as an El Loco steel roller coaster wrapping around the tower.” First introduced in 2012, a 173- meter tall polercoaster called is set to open at the brand new SkyPlex complex in Orlando in 2016. For those who cannot wait that long to experience the ride, a new video has been made, including many screams, that gives you the idea of it.
The attraction is called “the Skyscraper” but to us skyscraperists that’s just too obvious. Even though the domain name is in use to promote a simple tool to clean out a painting roller, I’d propose rollercraper for this kind of skyscraper, or rollercoaster, whatever your perspective is.
