Remember the time when the future looked something like this?
Off course you dont. The last time the future looked bright with all smiling people and supertall buildings with many sky bridges connecting them was during the 1950’s. Ever since, that kind of a future has been a theme that survived in cartoon series such as The Jetsons, an outer space Las Vegas casino or as Disneyland theme-park attraction:
Given success of previous movies such as Tower of Terror and Pirates of the Caribbean, it was just a matter of time until the futuristic themed land would make it to the big screen. Tomorrowlands shows Jules Verne-inspired visions of a future that never came to fruition, which is exactly the idea you get from watching the latest trailer. I have no idea what this movie is about, but next to the unavoidable teen star it has George Clooney, Judy Greer and Hugh Laurie.
This movie art seems inspired by the Portsmouth’s Spinnaker Tower.
Other than that, it’s just the good old fashioned future. Opens May 22!
